Quick trade post

Cards have taken a backseat in my nightly schedule since my trip to the WWU last weekend.  My daughter's basketball season is in full gear right now.  I believe she has at least 3 games each week for the next month.  By the time we get home each night and complete homework it is well past 9:30 or 10.  I may check out a ball game or Sportscenter afterwards, but it is usually to bed shortly there after because I roll out of bed by 5 in the morning.  Last night she had little homework, so I managed to flip through the mail and scanned the contents of a trade package from a Trading Bases member.

I am still missing some mid 1990s Finest base cards.  I love the design on these 1995 cards.  Green and a chrome finish are winners in my book.

I am not a huge fan of the pale green border on this 1996 Emotion card.  I am pretty sure this is the first time I have seen Dauntless on the front of a card.

Ozzie Smith almost seems to be glowing on his 95 Select Certified card.  Not a bad looking card, but the gold version is way better.  You may ask why I have a David Bell Indians card here.

I guess since it has a Cardinals logo on the back it was included on the team checklist.  I wish the card companies back then would either wait until the player was pictured in the uniform to match the logo, or just not produce a card of said player.  The Topps cards that showed a player in one uniform but had small print on the front that said now with team x drove me crazy.

The highlight of the package for me was this 1996 SPx Ozzie.  I am a sucker for hologram cards, and the die cut just adds to the overall coolness.  This card also completed my team set.

  1. Score for you! Love the 90s Finest-where are reasonably priced boxes? Who knows-hopefully I will find one.

  2. Agreed. I remember buying boxes of 1998 and 1999 Finest at shows for close to $80. Always hated when the set was split up into 2 series.
