First Kings

So far so good this week on my daily posts.  My stack of cards  to be scanned has been cut in half.  If all goes well all my trades recaps will be caught up by the weekend.  I do have a large EBAY purchase to go through, but that may have to wait until next week.  Today's cards are courtesy of a trade with TCDB member PhillipKnightScott.

My first cards from 2020 Diamond Kings were these 2 Cardinals greats.  A solid picture would have looked better instead of one cut in half by a red swatch, but then the cards would have looked the same as previous DK cards.  Topps is not the only brand that recycles photos.

It must have been a cold day back in 1988 for Ozzie to be wearing a turtleneck and jackets to be worn in the dugout.

 
We will not get to see what Gorman could have done this year now that the minor league season is officially cancelled.  My guess is he would have hit 20+ home runs at Double A Springfield.

It will be interesting to see if Austin Dean ever plays a game for the Cardinals.  He was traded to the Cardinals in January and was trying to compete for a reserve outfielder spot.  The DH may help him, but the Cardinals have 5 or 6 other outfielders competing for playing time.  The airbrush job on his 2020 GQ silver parallel is not that bad other than the missing uniform number.
