I had a somewhat unexpected pwe show up last week. Tom from The Angels, In Order sent me an email before he mailed the cards to ensure I still needed them. Not only did he take the time to check my want list, but he also made sure it was current. I love when other collectors go that extra mile.
Any Stan Musial card is welcome in my collection. I wonder if we can say this 1989 Starting Line Up card was the first sepia parallel.
My 1995 Ultra Gold Medallion set is almost finished thanks to receiving this Brian Jordan card. I am down to needing the Checklist from Series 2. I am one of those strange collectors who count checklists as part of a team set.
Finishing things up with a 1992 Classic Best minor league card. I cannot say I have ever heard of Mr. Meier. I was surprised I have another card of his from the 1993 Fleer Excel set. A quick check of his Baseball Reference page shows he never reached the Major Leagues. He still made it farther than most of us.
Big thank you to Tom for the great package of Cardinals!
Glad you got them. And I too include the checklist with the team set.
ReplyDeleteGlad to see I am not the only one.
DeleteI used to have that Musial SLU! It was one of my faves as a kid. It came with Bob Gibson.
ReplyDeleteSomehow the sepia didn't bother me back then. Probably because I once assumed everything before 1970 was in B&W lol.
I never really got into SLU figures other than Ray Lankford. I have a loose Vince Coleman floating around somewhere. I have thought about collecting them, but just do not have the room. My bobblehead collection takes up a ton of space.
